Unlike the “celebrity rolling hunger strike” in which some hasbeen Hollywood hacks inspired by Cindy “What was my sons name again?” Sheehan go for a day without consuming the average weekly food intake of a small African nation and no one gives a crap if they die anyway this hunger stike is serious!
We’re now entering day 20 of Ferdy’s hunger strike…
Until Democrats in Congress stop saying stupid things about the War in Iraq, I, Ferdinand T. Cat, along with my pet human Bruce, swear to stop eating Sargento’s Mozzarella Cheese, and we will restrict ourselves to generic cheeses and other name brands.
Things do not look good as the verbal bovine garden supliment just keeps on flowing. When will the maddness stop I ask you. Does the Democratic really have no soul and is wiling to allow this innocent cat to suffer the horrors the processed CHEDDER!!!
Oh the humanity!!

A violent group of professional militant “protesters” attacked the US Consulat in Auckland, attempted to set fire to the US flag and assaulted police officers who needed to call for support to get control of the group of - wait from experience in doing a hard head count then seeing the claims in the media I’d say 40 - 70 militants. They claim “more than 200″. Which is just plain crap. Hell more people than that cross Queen St when the lights change.
There were arrests and a number of police officers were injured.
Thats why the headline reads “Marchers Allege Police Brutality”.
If you rent a mob law breakers can still walk and talk then the cop needs to work on their brutality skills.

where the deer better move ass if they don’t want to be dinner!

Well given Steve’s marksmanship they don’t have a lot to worry about but I managed to ping the target a couple of times with a couple of Oswalds toys.

Say what you like, we right wing bastards have the best stuff and no liberal guilt holding us back. Thats right, we’re conservative, we blog and we’re armed. Get used to it!
The technical description for this sort of activity is a “yippie”.
Offically it was a range visit for checking suitability for siege engines. It passed.

Another proud kiwi moment brought to you by Helengrad.

By the way the headline of that story is a lie. “Prison for axe attack on PM’s office” is untrue. Tim was jailed forsedition based on a document he published. The axe in the window was a seperate charge.
Nice to see state controlled err I mean state owned TV is as accurate as we’ve come to expect.
At least RNZ bothered to report what actually happened and not just make it up.

Before you read anything else understand that I think Tim’s a bit of a knob on the best of days. He’s done some stupid shit in his day, he’s done some illegal shit. But for the police to crawl up his ass with a mirocscope and throw additional historical charges at him to ensure that he gets a prison sentance for sedition is complete abuse of the system for politcal reasons.
Having follwed the case I was supprised that he was even charged with sedition. He admitted the charges relating to the broken window but the police went after him with a passion that I for one would like to see they had for actually solving crimes with victims.
The charged him based on the content of something he had written which was critical for the Clark government. This in itself should quite simply not be possible. for him to be found guilty is unacceptable.
That the police did their utmost to ensure - sucessfully - that Selwyn did time is above and beyond.
Now that Helen knows she can have people locked up for criticizing her I ask you simply - who is next?

Helen Clark has called for a ceasefire in Lebanon. Well gosh thats just super, I guess she really does care.
Clark urged in a press conference today all sides to step down and that the two soldiers be released along with both sides halting the aggression. She also highlighted the G8 statement on the right for Israel to defend its but added that there was no solution through military. means.
Hang on thats not what the headline said, I tought she wanted a ceasfire apparetly she just wants Israel to not defend itself.
That doesn’t seem right at all. For someone to be that biased you would expect a track record though. Like her foriegn minister holding hands with Arafat after the Israeli government asked him not to visit and ddescribing Arafat as a “head of state”.
Like having a spittle splatering outburst on national TV making accusations of espionage… I’m sorry making it a statement of fact without ANY charges being laid, and cutting off diplomatic relations with an entire nation because two of it’s citizens tried to get a passport while ignoring several passport factories in a number of Islamic countries.
Quite simply blaming Israel for the attacks on Jewish gaves in New Zealand which is widely accepted as being a result of her outburst.
Like having given tens of thousands of New Zealand taxpayer dollars to a terrorist organisation.
Yes those are the sorts of things I’d expect to see if the motivation was more about hating Jews than an actual concern over innocent people being caught up in violence.
But lets be reasonable, we live in a benign strategic environment and things have been quiet in Israel for some time now. This is a massive unprovoked over reaction by Israel and nothing has happened to date that has caused Helen Clark to call for a ceasfire.
Has it?
Lets take a look at Helen’s “benign strategic environment shall we?
