    Hi. All linked up now.

  2. ZenTiger Says:

    Evening all.

    Anyone there?

  3. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

Evening All. I’m a bit surprised at the muted reaction to the police searches of Tiler Field’s abode and hounts. Commenters over at Farrar’s seem divided on whether the timing was planned by Labour or not. Afraid I can’t quite see how it would ‘be good for Labour’ unless they make a grand show of expelling him on Saturday or Sunday. But what, I hear you say, are the dynamic umplucashuns of that? Would Labour loose a by election? If they did, would it make any difference under MMP or would they retain their majority via the list?

    What’s the story? Eh?

  4. Murray Says:

    Well I’m here!

Did you get my email re lunch on Wed Zen?

  5. ZenTiger Says:

Howdy - oops. Must check email!

Not sure about the by-election situation Adolf. I can’t imagine Labour walking into one at this point on the polls. They’ll try to stall and let it blow over.

Otherwise, Cullen may suddenly decide to announce next years tax cuts after the convention. Naturally, it wont be retrospective. It wont even be “with effect today”. It will be “wait until April 1st and see if we yell April Fool”

  6. ZenTiger Says:

Just watched the reality bites video Murray. Powerful stuff.

  7. Murray Says:

Now read this one and see why she didn’t move me http://hittingmetalwithahammer.wordpress.com/2006/10/27/why-i-dont-give-crap-how-hard-she-cries/

  8. Lucyna Says:

Adolf, to me it looks like more death throes. I wish Labour would just get on with it rather than drawing it out like this. Resign and call a new election already.

  9. Murray Says:

Anyone else serously crreped out by a political party having seasions on how to shut down minority groups who don’t support them?

  10. Lucyna Says:

Murray, I was creeped out by Labour when I got back from Oz, and read about what they’d been up to while I was away. This is just more of the same, but more obvious, I suppose. In that more people are sitting up and taking notice.

  11. Aaron Bhatnagar Says:

Hurrah - big C&R Now victory for the centre-right in Auckland for the Auckland Energy Consumer Trust elections.

C&R Now got 4/5, despite the presence of a disaffected centre-right ticket that would have split some of the vote.

    http://www.aect.co.nz/election

  12. ZenTiger Says:

Seriously Murray. This “understand your enemy” crap has major problems when the NZ Labour Govt treats its citizens as its enemy.

Values of integrity, honesty and tolerance?

  13. Lucyna Says:

Not to mention that when I first heard Helen Clark on the radio, I thought I’d been listening to a man. Until they said at the end who she was.

  14. ZenTiger Says:

I’m guessing by next election Labour will also have failed to actually deliver the pledges on their pledge cards. So, as well as using tax payer funds for electioneering brought up all over again, they’ll possibly have to face the fallout on falling to honour their pledges.

  15. ZenTiger Says:

Hi Aaron. You’re right - an impressive and significant victory for C&R.

  16. Murray Says:

What it comes down is that the government is saying New Zealanders should consider THEM to be the enemy.

  17. andrei Says:

    Hi everybody;

Yes indeed Murray that is very sinister. The EBs are a proxy for all “right wing christians” they stand as a convienient symbol.

What makes me laugh is Labour was not worried about the “Hikoi of hope” organized by the Anglicans a few years back and which could have been considered as camopaigning against National policies.

  18. Gooner Says:

I remember when Labour first won office in ‘99 and they touted the idea of bringing back criminal defamation. That was ominous.

Oh yeah, evenin’ all. Hi Aaron, thank goodness you stopped the thieves from getting hold of Auckland’s power aye. I mean, that is when Auckland has any :)

  19. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

Absolutely right, Andrei. You should see the dirty looks I get in certain circles when I talk about ‘the sin of socialism.’

Oh dear, I’ve got some dick next door letting off loose cannons or some such.

  20. Gooner Says:

Adolf, it’s that guy from the motorway. He’s found you. Duck!

  21. andrei Says:

Oh yes Guy Fawkes is coming up, my boys birthday by pure co-incidence.

I like fireworks - the nannies want to ban them. I wonder tho why we celebrate Guy Fawkes day with them - I don’t mind but it just seems a little irrelevant to me.

We used to do it after Liturgy on Easter Sunday but it caused alarm and despondancy amongst the authorities so we ceased and desisted. In a multicultural society there could be multiple fireworks occaisions but even one day is too much for some it seems.

  22. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

Very few comments over at Farrar’s since 1730. All the leftoids must be driving to Rotorua. Oh I really really really hope the EB’s let rip with something juicy during the week-end. Just to put the scowl back onto the face of ‘Old Bug Eyes’”

  23. Murray Says:

Do you think their confrence will produce a final solution to the EB question?

  24. Oswald Bastable Says:

1/2 an ounce of black powder makes a bang that leaves shop-brought fireworks for dead!

  25. Aaron Bhatnagar Says:

Well, let’s just say that Auckland Labour will be a bit down in the dumps at the Auckland City and Manukau City losses of late - first Sylvia taylor winning in Mangere a council position, and then C&R with the AECT. They will be an unhappy bunch.

  26. Gooner Says:

Muzza, yep. The solution is the same to them: Legislate.

  27. Murray Says:

Ah, history will know them as the “Rotorua Laws” that define who is classed as an EB and who doesn;t have to wear a badge in public then.

  28. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

Well not quite, Gooner. The Cook went out the next morning to inspect the car and informed me there were no axe marks on the boot. You know, that was an amazing episode. I’ve never seen a person ‘lose it’ so frenetically.

  29. Gooner Says:

Yes, a good start leading up to the local bodies next year Aaron.

  30. Gooner Says:

“I’ve never seen a person ‘lose it’ so frenetically.

Adolf, you obviously haven’t been watching and listeneing to H1 in the last few weeks then.

  31. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

I had a beer with phil u the other day and he walked to the pub with his two dogs. They wouldn’t let him in, even though we wanted to go out on the deck/balcony thingy. I said to him ‘You weren’t quick enough mate. You should have told the barman you were blind.’

  32. Murray Says:

    Think trebuchet launched pyros Oz.

  33. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

Must go and find out if there’s any cricket on tonight. Go the Slack caps

  34. Murray Says:

    He said person.

  35. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

    Doesn’t start till ten o’clock.

  36. Michael Says:

I think the way Wilson let the Police into Parliament without any bother shows that Labour want to expel Field, but they can’t force him out of Parliament, and he could start voting against Labour if they expel him from the party. That would make passing legislation very difficult if the Greens oppose a bill.

    The current situation Lab 50 + Prg 1 + UF 3 + NZF 7 = 61 out of 121, Lab minus Field = 60 out of 121.

Remember that no Electoral (Integrity) Act has been passed for this Parliamentary Session, or even given a second reading - Probably because NZ1 and Labour don’t have sufficient numbers to pass the bill. (Greens, UF, Nats, ACT and Maori all oppose.) So Labour can’t force him out.

  37. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

Murray, your bloody clock’s wrong. How can a man be expected to catch the opening salvos, I mean overs, if he arrives an hour late for the battle? Sync you cron man!

  38. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

Michael, what’s the story vis a vis MMP and the party vote if National wins a by election in Mangere? Does it mean the Gummint falls or does it mean they just stick in one more Labour list MP and drop off one Gnat list MP?

  39. Michael Says:

If National wins, it gets an extra MP and have 49.

If Labour loses, it’ll have just 49 MPs.

Also, if an existing National list MP wins, then the next list candidate (Katrina Shanks) becomes an MP as well. Georgina Te Heu Heu could be a starter, or Tau Henare. (Clem Simich was the candidate in 2005, but I think it unlikely he would be a by-election candidate)

  40. Whaleoil Says:

Evening all…just an update on the EB thingy…I followed up the HRC on my complaint to them over the ostracism of the EB’s that they were supposed to get back to me inside 15 days…got a reply today that they are waiting to rule but the other complainant (the EB’s) wanted to extend their complaint and file more information today.

Me thinks Clark et al are going to be found in breach of the HR Act as a result of our complaints…kinda hard not to find otherwise if you look at the definitions.

  41. Whaleoil Says:

Tau will do it in Mangere and I for one would help him. I reckon National could actually win it.

    Now to get Peter Dunne.

  42. Whaleoil Says:

Completely off topic…Murray can you make me a B’atleth?

  43. Michael Says:

On reflection, Tau is more likely than Georgina.

  44. Whaleoil Says:

You outta towners have no idea what Mangere is like….you just don’t go there unless you have to. For a white woman to win even in the local bodies is extraordinary.

My guys who are all Maori are working at Otara Chopping Mall and they reckon it is wild. They have twice had to grab the pick handles for protection.

  45. Oswald Bastable Says:

    http://www.loveleaf.net/sword/klingon.html

  46. Murray Says:

Yes but neither cheaply nor quickly. I have several patterns. I recomend the riveted wood grip rather than just leather bound and they are easier to hold.

    Display or combat?

  47. pdm Says:

Good evening all. This is a new experience for me so hope I don’t stuff up.

On a different track to the above I see in tonights HB Today newspaper that the Central Hawkes Bay District Council have written to the Auditor General supporting his decisions and expressing `outrage’ at the cynical actions of most political parties.

The mayor is quoted as saying `Iwould personally like to publicly distance ourseves from the fiasco of politicians knowingly doing unlawful acts and legislation’. It sets a dangerous precedent for the health of our democracy.

Central Hawkes Bay may be small population wise but it carries some `heavy hitters’ in National Prty circles.

  48. Murray Says:

Os lets chat about linking to competition on my site some time. Your shout.

  49. Michael Says:

Whaleoil - I used to live in Porirua East and shop in Cannons Creek - I went to the Top Tav regularly (before it became Susan Baragawneth’s school for Teenage Mums).

  50. Oswald Bastable Says:

The freight sort of rules out importing one, as well as some strange ideas customs get about such things. I heard of a broadsword getting confiscated as it was considered a double-edged knife!

I put the link on purely to show examples to chose from ;-)

  51. Whaleoil Says:

I would want a worf pattern style and for display….let me know a price and I may commission one from you. BTW some tosser is selling them on Trademe for $200…maybe we need to get your foundry up and running and sell some good battle gear.

  52. Whaleoil Says:

Cannibal Creek is nothing compared to Otara and Mangere….i mean it. Nothing.

The latest craze in South Auckland is to make very large bullwhips from plaited rags and smash bottle, bus shelters, windows and each other with htem. It sounds like Baghdad on afriday afternoon

  53. Oswald Bastable Says:

I keep saying that they should be flogged…

  54. Murray Says:

Evening pdm you are now cleared to comment, procced under normal vfr.

  55. Whaleoil Says:

Murray does your DF site exist? If so where?

  56. Gooner Says:

Evenin’ pdm. City Councils are funny creatures. Our one here wants to BAN the selling of ice creams, water and sunblock from a mobile vending car thingy by the beach. Their reason: it is rampant commercialism. One councillor said people don’t need the stresses of buying ice creams while they are at the beach. That’s true! That’s what he said. Another commie said it would impinge on the dairies that sell the stuff 10 minutes walk away. Can’t have that competition thing now can we.

There was a witty letter to the editor on it in tonight’s local rag. The funniest thing of all is that the council wants public consultation because it is a ‘contentious issue’.

    Mwahahaha.

  57. Murray Says:

Remember when I told you I owned dolphinfoundry.com?

    I’d sugest www,dolphinfoundry.com :o)

  58. Whaleoil Says:

It goes nowhere….I did find a site at http://www.edsberg.net/df/index.html…methinks your dns resolve is lost somehow.

  59. Whaleoil Says:

    http://www.edsberg.net/df/index.html

  60. ZenTiger Says:

“people don’t need the stresses of buying ice creams while they are at the beach.”

That’s got to be the funniest thing I’ve heard in a while.

Bet they dont need the stress of feeding parking meters either.

  61. Murray Says:

Bugger, he said there some issues with his ISP changing but it seemed to have gotten through those.

I’ll check and get back to you.

  62. ZenTiger Says:

Do you have a spare spear Murray?

  63. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

South Africa are two for two after two! !

  64. Murray Says:

Throwing, thrusting or hunting? Pilum, lance or short?

  65. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

Well it’s punkin time for me. Need to gather my strength for the next few days’ entertainment. Of course, the police investigation will need some time to be completed. These thngs are very complex, you know. Sometime in 2009, I’d say.

    Night all.

  66. DarrenG Says:

    Greetings from Sydney everyone.
    Good night Adolf.

Here’s a strange tradition they have in New South Wales.
If a ministrer lies and is caught out, he resigns.
Do you think it might catch on in the Kumura Republik?

  67. DarrenG Says:

  68. Adolf Fiinkensein Says:

Had to come back - SA 42 for FIVE.

Wickets dropping faster than Labour Members’ reputations.

  69. Murray Says:

Sounds like some kind of accountability thing Darren. It’ll never take off.

  70. DarrenG Says:

And what can we do about the MSM?
I found this horror posted on LGF.
Bloody BBC and to think i used to have such respect for it when i was a naive youth.
The Sheik business has been quite big news over here.
How did TVNZ handle it? if at all?

    http://www.littlegreenfootballs.com/weblog/

BTW I have seen master Rick a few times and may catch up with him later.

  71. Murray Says:

As far as I can tell it is untouchable by the NZ LSM.

And that Rick could do with a good catching up with.

  72. george Says:

    Oswald,

I keep flogging that they should be flayed

  73. DarrenG Says:

Yes, it’s time to head off, put cash on the cellphone and ring him.
He just texted to say he was off into the city.
I have been out Parramatta way sorting out work before dropping into this cybercafe by Central Station.
I’m hungry now. A $7 meal beckons at some city pub.
Keep up the good fight everyone.
Not long before the dragon is slayed.

BTW Last Friday I heard she spends two months a year in California because she has a special friend there. The allegations came from an IT editor friend whose wife knows someone at MFAT!

    Good night everyone!!!

  74. Old Fat Sailor Says:

OT I do beleive she is pissed again OFS

  75. Old Fat Sailor Says:

    lets try again

  76. Fletch Says:

Hey I just saw this thing on the news on TV. Did you know that homeschooling is illegal in Germany since Hitler outlawed it in 1938? There are about 400 families that do it underground or cases which are tied up in the court system.

I think a German mother of 12 just got arrested the other day for homeschooling her kids; her husband whisked the kids out to Austria.

  77. Murray Says:

Good lord what kind of freak thinks they have the right to totally regulate someone else childs education?

Aside from Helen Clark with her only state aprroved creches get fubding approach I mean.
