Investigators announce suspect in Pest assault case.

Circumstantial evidence as follows:

1. Neighbour who has taken to Pest appears in carpark and asks if Pest is alright.

Why? How did she know Pest might NOT be alright?

2. Neighbour is a recent arrival, having fled an abusive marriage.

3. Neighbour has a new boyfriend – care to guess the nature of the relationship?

4. Said boyfriend has a serious attitude problem, and likes people to get out of his way. Tried to put a shoulder into me when I didn’t jump aside to let him past several weeks back.

5. Pest has been a frequent visitor to her house, including having been fed, against requests not to do so. Also in contradiction to claims by neighbour.

6. When taking Pest out for abloutions this morning she heard a noise from that flat and ran back inside. She NEVER runs away from people.

Conclusion: For the remainder of our time here she will not go outside without me watching her. May put women’s refuge and SPCA on speed dial.

Evidently she’s decided she might be an inside cat for a while anyway.
