Say what?

“…With Michigan’s new ban on affirmative action going into effect, and similar ballot initiatives looming in other states, many public universities are scrambling to find race-blind ways to attract more blacks and Hispanics.

Hat tip.

Stupid, isn’t it? It’s been against the law to use race as a factor in college admissions in the University of California for the last ten years. So when students apply there’s a section of the form where they’re supposed to describe “life challenges” they’ve surmounted. They get extra points for that.

How about race blind ways to find STUDENTS.

Not red, black, green, white, yellow with blue dots. Just bloody students.

Stop punishing people for the crime of not being a minority perceived as being victims by the liberal middle class white with guilt issues who want to over compensate to make up for their own issues.

Fact is they do not believe any of these people are their equals in way. If they did they wouldn’t think they needed help every step of the way.

The sad thing is that this system is being used in the US to screw Asians worse than whites. Asians have overcome some things essentially as bad as that which blacks here overcame, and far worse than Hispanics have endured. But they have been successful (apparently too successful) due to cultural factors (like studying and working too hard and having strong family values and traditions that translate out into being good, productive, law abiding citizens rather than mopes and criminals).

Rather than putting in some effort to promote the beneficial aspects of Asian culture to the other ethnic groups (can’t judge anyone;s culture - except European derived whites), they push these idiotic games to quota up blacks and Hispanics. THey also ignore the harm this does to those they claim to be helping (by getting into schools above their merited place, minorities have even more trouble competing with higher ability whites and Asians, and thus fail to graduate at much higher levels or manage to graduate only to face the perception that they got through on race/ethnicity rather than merit).

One of the cooler responses to this whole business has been “Affirmative Action Bake Sales”. You should see the lefties scramble to find excuses to shut those down when they happen. (First amendment? What First amendment?)
