White Island erupting silently 5 miles distant with great billows of ash boiling up and descending like rainsqualls into the ocean leeward of the rock. Total silence as the sun rose, lighting first on the ash plume then the island then the sea. Colour changing from red to pink, oyster grey to bright blue.
