Steve Irwin has died after being hit in the chest by a stingray barb which peirced his heart, killing him instantly.

Honestly I expected him to get taken by a croc, because the man had utterly no fear and tended to live by his own rules. This led to people who knew nothing about the animals he worked with critising him, but in true Aussie form he was utterly without apology.

While Steve did say he wouldn’t mind dying on the job, it would have been better if it had taken place quite a few years further down the track.

You gotta love a man who thinks dirty great big killer reptiles are beautiful.
