That particular one is pretty old. It’s a rifled gun; no one we know does that anymore. (And the rifling is rusted. That thing on display somewhere?)
Actually, come to think of it, the Brits still use rifled guns, don’t they?
Parade piece Steven? I mean, rear view mirrors?
Yes, and its a very good one as some Iraqis can tell, not as many as before they learned about it. But some.
You’ll also find that the first round will clear the rust nicely.
OFS such road legal fittings are common on all armoured vehicals. Including things like dayglo panels because they are oversized. Not everyone lives in a country that is essentially empty.
Reminds me of a US senator’s comment in the 1980’s when there was controversy about re-activating some USN battleships for work off Lebanon. The handwringers were snivelling the expense was too huge, it sends the wrong message blah blah blah, All this guy said was when you’re a muslim and you’re looking down the barrel of a 16 inch naval gun, you just say ‘where do I sign to be a christian’?
Yeah odly they tend to behave more rationally when you offer to blow the crap out of them than when you give them the empathetic head tilt and say sorry for being bad westerners.
Who would have predicted that.
